Based in Launceston, Robyn McKinnon manages a Private Practice that offers professional counselling and support services to individuals, businesses, organisations and the wider community across Tasmania. Robyn offers outreach services to Longford and Flinders Island on a regular basis.
As an experienced Counsellor and Social Worker registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers and the Australian Counselling Association, Robyn has gained a broad range of professional skills, knowledge and personal insight over the past 15 years, and is able to offer a range of services by request including counselling, consultancy, training, professional supervision, critical incident support and group work programs.
Having worked in the welfare sector in Tasmania since 2001, Robyn has developed particular skills and experience in working with individuals, families, couples and young people across a broad range of issues, including relationship breakdown, workplace difficulties, anxiety, depression, parenting, self-esteem, trauma and pregnancy & fertility issues including miscarriage, stillbirth and traumatic birth.
Throughout her career, Robyn has been recognised for her work and commitment to helping people in Tasmania by receiving a number of awards including Tasmanian Young Australian of the Year in 2008 and the Southern Cross Young Achievers Award in 2007. Robyn has also received a Griffith University Academic Excellence Award in 2015 for her studies in the Master of Social Work.
Robyn is a current member of the Australian Association of Social Workers, a member of the Australian Counselling Association, a registered Counsellor listed on National Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (ARCAP) and a founding member of the Tasmanian Pregnancy and Infant Loss Services Alliance. Robyn also works with a number of Employee Assistance Program (EAP) organisations both locally in Tasmania, and across Australia.
